Chilled day

It is so quiet and cool in the mountains that we had a great night's sleep and finally seem adjusted to the 8 hour time difference.

We hired a boat for 4 hours and set off with picnic and relaxing in the sun plans but the heavens closed in and we had to make a dash back after 1 hour. It was a little electric motor boat which went 6 miles an hour. Ross was in charge of driving the boat and thought he was king-pin being in charge of where we went.

We did have time to get out at one of the secluded beaches where Ross found a tree swing over the water but thankfully remained dry. Unlike last night when he took a running jump into the icy lake fully clothed.

Went for a wander in Jasper for the afternoon, I took a bit of time to slap on a bit of make-up for a change. Soon regretted it as in the middle of the first shop Ross declared loudly that there was something wrong with my eyes and they had gone purple! So much for me having a bit of spontaneity and buying 'holiday' shades of eye shadow at duty free.
I bought a great little handbag which I thought would brighten up my usual black work suits - probably a safer bet than the purple eye shadow!

Leave for Kelowna tomorrow, have just seen that it is 606km away so about a 7 hour drive, early start I think.
