Bartholomew island

We travelled in the late afternoon to get to Bartholomew island before sunset. Magnificent view.

We had an early start as there was another boat of 100 passengers moored in the bay and we wanted to climb the island in the peace of the morning. So 6am start and well worth the effort as the climb was gentle and with the dawn lighting up the creases and crevices of the volcano it was a magnificent way to start the day. It looked like we could have been on the surface of mars.
Here are a few pics of the climb on the board walks and view from the top.

The kids picking up the lava rock which despite the size were as light as a feather.
