Santiago

Ross begged for another 10 minutes of sleep, which has to be a record as he is always the first up. Whilst having breakfast whales were spotted so we all grabbed life jackets and jumped into the pangs to get a close up view.

Finally back on the schedule, we landed on Santiago island and went for a walk along the lava formed coast. Iguana, sea lion pups and lava lizards together with Sally crabs and other tidal pool life.

The shapes, tunnels, caves formed by the numerous volcanic eruptions and plate movements were architectural wonders and it was amazing how it still held together.

Back on the black sand beach we suited up and went for a rather chilly half hour snorkel, the highlights of which were a giant grouper and a White tipped reef shark

Trevor also ended up in a game of chase with a sea lion pup.
