With the Everglades being so close, we decided to take a trip out and do an airboat ride. The weather looked fine as we boarded and I had left our rain macs in the car. We went into the glades are 15 mins, had a look around, some a couple of gators and then headed back. Not quite the swashbuckling hair raising ride we had anticipated, weaving in and out of the bushes as they just drove you through a very well established trail. However, on the way back the rain started and it was an utter downpour and we were wet through. At this stage you just want the guy to 'put foot' and vamoose back to the base at speed.
We watched their very lame gator show and decided that despite still being soaked we would leave. Not to be recommended at the:
As Trev is actually on the mid-size as far as Americans go, we went shoe shopping for new trainers for him and bought some cheap t- shirts to wear as were still soaked and did not wish to look like drowned rats whilst in the posh shopping centre. Shoppers still took a wide berth as we looked very bedraggled with wet shorts.
An evening spent with family and friends down at Monty's raw bar, under the setting sun.
